Carving Studio

The children's studio "Artistic wood processing" operates at the Meshchersk Museum of Wooden Architecture named after V. P. Groshev.Previously, it belonged to the Interregional School of Craftsmen.A large number of exhibits in the museum are made by the studio's hands. Classes are held for boys from the age of 10 - free of charge. The studio exists on sponsorship and charitable funds. Here they get acquainted with a traditional artistic craft - artistic wood carving. They learn about different types of carving and gain practical skills in using a carving tool. The studios make small, funny souvenirs, make art panels and sculptural compositions. Any visitor to the museum can purchase them at the souvenir shop. A studio is a place where enthusiastic students can realize their creative abilities, which may further influence their choice of profession. Based on the experience of the years, we see that practicing artistic wood carving has become a hobby for some studios, and for many a profession ...

Vladimir Groshev, Doctor of Economics, Professor, President of the Academy of Management and Market, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Plekhanov Russian Academy of Economics, is the ideologist of the creation of the school, patron and benefactor of the Museum of Wooden Architecture.

From the first to the present day, the school and the museum exist only on sponsorship and charitable funds. We invite people who are kind, responsive, and loving to the children of Russia to cooperate in the revival of Russian artistic crafts, teaching children the skills of artistic carving and wood painting, and dowsing.
